The Assignment
The Waterfront at Port Chester, a 358,619 SF shopping center in the heart of downtown Port Chester anchored by Costco, Lowes, Stop and Shop and Michaels.
The Challenge
The shopping center was somewhat stigmatized in the Village as a large center that did not significantly add to the community. Numerous retailers including DSW and Chase shuttered their locations. The Center had 6 units of vacancy totaling 29,154 RSF. Many of the spaces had been vacant for over four years.
The Result
RM Friedland put together a clever marketing package targeting local, regional and national firms with an emphasis on experiential. Each team member was tireless in their canvassing efforts. After only a few months of marketing the team signed leases with four tenants totaling 22,500 square feet. The unique tenants included the Greenwich Ballet Company, mSquash, BRIJ Dental, AFC Urgent Care, and Bona Bona ice cream.
